Unknown Spot

The Situation:

We’re called to a job where the customer asks us to treat a mystery spot in the middle of the carpeted floor.  Our client has no idea what caused the spot, and despit our many years of service, we can’t figure it out either.

Our Solution:

Step 1 – Remove as much excess residue as possible with a bone scraper:

Step 2 – Apply Matrix Citrusolve undiluted.

Step 3 – Work into spot with a bone spatula.  Tamp and blot the area with a spotting brush and towel.  Obesrve the towel for transfer of the spot.  If we do not see any transfer, or only very little, we proceed to the next step.

Step 4 – Apply Matrix breakdown P.O.G. undiluted.

Step 5 – Repeat step 3.

Step 6 – We rinse the area with water.

Step 7 – We apply Matrix Release undiluted.

Step 8 – Repeat step 3.

Step 9 – Rinse the area with water.

Step 10 – Apply Matrix Target Tannin Stain Remover.

Step 11 – Repeate step 3 and then repeate step 9.

If the stop disappears after any step, we will rinse and dry the spot.
